The King permitted this due to Chocola's likeness to Kiyu and his belief that Kiyu would have approved.

In an official OVA, Chocola prepares an anniversary celebration for her relationship with the King. When he fails to attend, she becomes heartbroken and impulsively runs away from the royal castle.
