TV-Series
Description
Mano attends middle school alongside Nishikata and Takagi. She sports short black hair, typically tied in small pigtails, with bangs resting above her eyes, a light complexion, and greyish eyes. She stands noticeably shorter than most classmates and primarily wears her school uniform. As an adult, her hair grows slightly longer and falls freely in front.

Personality-wise, Mano displays shyness, anxiety, and sheepishness, particularly around Nakai. She also struggles with noticeable anger issues, becoming impatient when pestered. Despite this, she demonstrates thoughtfulness and kindness, actively supporting Takagi and Nishikata's relationship by steering Nakai away to grant them privacy. In her relationship with Nakai, she frequently second-guesses herself and wishes he showed more interest, though she loves him deeply.

Her romance with Nakai blossoms during their middle school days. They walk home together, ride tandem bicycles, and attend summer festivals side-by-side to watch fireworks. In the OVA, they ride a waterslide rumored to make couples fall in love. A key moment occurs in chapter 124 when Nakai initially refuses to write their names in a book atop the "415 steps" linked to a romantic legend, upsetting Mano. She later discovers he had already written her name alone, symbolizing their eternal bond, which delights her. Chapter 163 hints at their first kiss.

In the spin-off manga, their relationship progresses significantly. Chapter 129 reveals they live together over ten years after middle school, and chapter 265 confirms their marriage. Mano is estimated to be 26–27 years old during this time, based on the timeline from middle school graduation.

Mano shares a close friendship with Takagi, who provides relationship advice and engineers opportunities for her with Nakai, such as distracting Nishikata at a waterpark so Mano can be alone with Nakai. Mano reciprocates by supporting Takagi’s interactions with Nishikata. They participate in couple activities, including keeping exchange diaries and group outings. In chapter 163, Mano seeks Takagi’s advice on experiences like kissing.

Her surname combines "真" (ma, meaning "real, genuine") and "野" (no, meaning "field, wilderness").
