Description
Kyouka Jirou, the hero Earphone Jack, studies in U.A. High School's Class 1-A. She possesses a slender build, fair skin, and stands 154 cm tall, with dark purple hair cut asymmetrically at chin length; two reflections shaped like sound waves frame her face. Her most distinctive features are the flexible, plug-like earphone jacks extending from her earlobes, functioning as extra limbs she controls at will. These jacks stretch several meters and pierce objects or surfaces. She sustained a scar on her right jack during the Paranormal Liberation War and lost her left ear and jack entirely in the Final War, later using a prosthetic replacement.

Her personality blends pragmatism and bluntness with occasional teasing, often directed at Denki Kaminari. She displays a protective, empathetic side toward close friends like Momo Yaoyorozu and reacts aggressively to provocations, using her jacks to physically discipline others. Initially self-conscious about her appearance and musical interests, perceiving music as unrelated to heroism, she gained confidence after performing at the U.A. School Festival, integrating music into her hero identity. She harbors aversions to horror-based activities and overt nudity.

Her Quirk, Earphone Jack, allows her to detect minute sounds and vibrations by plugging her jacks into surfaces or objects. Offensively, she channels her heartbeat through the jacks to generate destructive vibrations. Training under Pro Hero Gang Orca refined her abilities, including enhancing her hearing range by repeatedly piercing stone cliffs. Her combat style emphasizes reconnaissance, area disruption, and tactical support, utilizing specialized equipment: Stereo Boots amplify directional vibrations, the Amplifier Jack provides detachable wrist speakers, and she later incorporated noise-canceling headphones to mitigate backlash from her own sound attacks.

Key battles demonstrate her strategic acumen: at the U.S.J. Incident, she used Kaminari’s Electrification Quirk to electrocute villains; during the Provisional Hero License Exam, she collaborated with Tsuyu Asui and Mezo Shoji to rescue Momo; on Nabu Island, she ambushed the villain Nine alongside Mashirao Ojiro. Her Ultimate Moves include Heartbeat Distortion (shattering ground via seismic vibrations), Heartbeat Surround (short-range sonic bursts), and Counter-Balance (nullifying sound-based attacks).

Born to musicians Kyotoku and Mika Jiro, she inherited her Quirk from her mother. Though initially pressured toward music, she chose heroism while maintaining her passion. She plays bass, guitar, and drums, possessing a singing voice described as "husky but heavenly." Post-graduation, she ranks as the No. 30 Pro Hero, mentors Eri in music, and balances hero work with her musical career.

Her development culminated during the Final War; her defiance against All For One mobilized vestiges within him to rebel, epitomized by her declaration: "You made my pals cry!" Eight years later, she adopts a taller stature with shoulder-length hair and an updated costume featuring a sleeveless jacket, mid-length amplifier bands, and her prosthetic ear device.
