Description
Rie Morita, a student at the academy, co-founded an unofficial witchcraft club with friends Hiroko Takashiro and Saki Shindou. She discovered a handwritten grimoire, later named Bible Black, in an antique store sale pile and introduced it to the group, prompting their magical experiments.

Her appearance features long green hair in pigtails with small red accessories, copper-colored eyes, and a preference for modest attire: a sleeveless beige vest over a pink shirt, a red necktie, a long blue skirt, and blue socks during casual hours. She wears the academy uniform at school and a black robe for rituals.

Compared to the impulsive Saki, Rie maintains a reserved and hesitant nature, often attempting to calm Saki during confrontations like the student council denying their club's status or Saki threatening retaliation. Despite this caution, Rie participates in the club's activities, including burying an enchanted stone to cast a humiliating spell on student council member Junko Mochida. Witnessing the spell's success, she voices uncertainty about their involvement but later engages in selling love spells for profit, aiding the club's growing influence and rebranding as Rose Cross.

Her loyalty shifts after a failed ritual where a demon assaults Takashiro. When student council president Nami Kozono assumes leadership, Rie and Saki comply with Kozono's commands, including restraining Takashiro to proceed with a Walpurgis Night ritual to summon the Devil. During the ritual's catastrophic failure, Kozono murders Saki. Rie searches the grimoire for a counter-spell but is also killed, her blood staining the book. Her death occurs in the school basement, where Takashiro later discovers her body.

Rie was chronologically the first character to possess the Bible Black grimoire. She and Saki are noted as rare female characters in the series not depicted in sexual situations, though conceptual art suggested initial plans for such scenes. A flashback in the original series initially portrayed her with a different appearance, later corrected in remastered editions.
