Description
Raoh, also known as Ken-Oh (King of Fists), was born in the Land of Shura as Hahaja's second son and biological brother to Kaioh, Toki, and Sayaka. A fire destroying the Taiseiden led his mother to sacrifice herself for the Hokuto Soke brothers, an event scarring the family. Traumatized, Kaioh embraced evil and killed Raoh's beloved dog, horrifying the young Raoh. Jukei later sent Raoh, Toki, and infant Kenshiro to train under Ryuken in Hokuto Shinken, separating them from their homeland. During the journey, Raoh displayed fierce loyalty by carrying Toki up a cliff after Ryuken's test, demanding joint adoption, which convinced Ryuken to train both brothers.

Raoh forged a "Hard Fist" style through relentless training under Ryuken, focusing on overwhelming power. He encountered Yuria during this time, saving her from wolves and developing unrequited feelings. Despite his ambition to become the strongest, Ryuken chose Kenshiro as the Hokuto Shinken successor. Refusing to relinquish his power, Raoh broke the 1800-year succession law, killed Ryuken, and departed to conquer the wasteland. Seizing the title Ken-Oh, he amassed an army, established the stronghold Cassandra, imprisoned martial artists to steal their techniques, and confined Toki to prevent opposition. His campaign ruthlessly subjugated territories without concern for stability.

After Kenshiro liberated Cassandra, Raoh retaliated by occupying Mamiya's village. He fatally wounded Rei by striking his Shinkesshū pressure point and fought Kenshiro to a standstill, halted only by Toki's intervention. Raoh monitored Souther's activities but avoided direct conflict due to injuries and Souther's unique physiology. He aided Kenshiro against Souther, rescuing him after an initial defeat and observing their rematch. Raoh then killed Ryuken's rival Koryu to test his recovery and battled Toki, sparing him due to Toki's radiation sickness. Following Toki's death, Raoh confronted the Nanto Goshasei, defeating Huey, Shuren, and Juza. Discovering Yuria was the Last Nanto General, he captured her but retreated upon witnessing Kenshiro's mastery of Musou Tensei, an event instilling deep fear.

Tormented by this fear, Raoh abandoned his Ken-Oh title and sought to master Musou Tensei. Learning from Fudoh of the Mountains that the technique required profound sorrow, he intended to kill Yuria to evoke it but discovered she was already dying of radiation sickness. Sympathizing with her fate, Raoh experienced genuine sorrow, enabling him to achieve Musou Tensei. He extended Yuria's life using pressure points before facing Kenshiro in their final battle at Hokuto Renkitōza. Kenshiro emerged victorious. With his dying breath, Raoh declared no regrets and channeled his remaining life energy skyward, restoring sunlight to the world. His horse Kokuoh delivered his ashes to Reina, who returned them to the Land of Asura.

Spin-offs and expanded media explored Raoh's earlier years. *Legends of the Dark King* depicted his rise to power with childhood friends Reina and Souga, conquering Cassandra and taming Kokuoh. *The Legends of the True Savior* film series added depth: Souga sacrificed himself to bolster army morale, and Reina was injured saving an infant during clashes with Souther's forces. Raoh saved Reina using pressure points, entrusting her to Toki with a pendant from their childhood. Before his final battle, he purged corrupt subordinates like Giraku to preserve his army's integrity. Posthumously, Raoh's legacy endured; the Land of Asura revered him as a symbol of hope against Kaioh's tyranny, and his biological son Ryu was revealed, whom Kenshiro later trained as a potential Hokuto Shinken successor.

The 1986 film adaptation presented alternate events: Raoh witnessed Shin's betrayal, ordered Jagi to dispose of Kenshiro, and killed Ryuken directly after declaring his intent to conquer heaven. He later captured Yuria during her escape from Shin and crucified her as bait for Kenshiro. After defeating Kenshiro in battle, he spared him due to Lin's intervention, postponing their conflict.
