Description
Salamander is a demon from Hell appearing as a red lizard-like entity. His full name is Salamander Kimitake, written in kanji as サラマンダー 公威. He embodies the sin of Greed among the seven deadly sins. Visually distinct, he typically wears only a traditional Japanese loincloth (fundoshi) and always straps the katana "Magoroku" to his waist.

His personality shows a disregard for women, demonstrated when he spat on the human Sakuma, and exhibits masochistic tendencies. Salamander's primary supernatural ability is "Revolution," forcing individuals to believe their own words when they state things they do not genuinely hold true, manipulating perceptions and realities based on spoken falsehoods.

An amateur practitioner named Okada, driven by selfish motivations, initially summoned Salamander to the human world. Due to Okada's lack of knowledge and experience in demon summoning rituals, Salamander dominated his spirit instead of submitting to a contract. His contractual affiliations shift across arcs; he holds contracts with the Hell Detective Agency, the demon contractor Akazawa Akutabe (as a former contractor), and Sakuma (as a current contractor), though the exact nature and stability of these bonds are ambiguous.

Salamander interacts with other key figures; the demon Azazel assigns him the nickname "Manda-han" (マンダはん). He operates within a hierarchy of demons embodying deadly sins, his role as Greed consistent. His katana is actively used in combat, indicating proficiency in physical confrontations alongside his reality-warping ability. His narrative function centers on executing assignments, often through coercion or force, maintaining his characteristic blend of aggression, disdain, and weaponized deception.
