TV Special
Description
Daisuke attends the protagonist's rural school as a classmate. Initially presenting as a class clown and bully, he provokes conflict by teasing and antagonizing her. This dynamic alters during a critical encounter at a local spring haunted by a vengeful spirit with a hatred for males. Lured by taunts about the spring, Daisuke investigates alone, becomes trapped, and suffers possession by the malevolent ghost. His capture compels the protagonist to overcome emotional barriers and intervene. She confronts the spirit directly, securing Daisuke's physical freedom and exorcising the ghost. This shared trauma forges a bond, transforming their hostility into mutual respect and friendship. Subsequently, Daisuke joins the protagonist and other village children in safeguarding their forest environment against a dam project. They aim to locate endangered eagles whose presence would confer preservation status on the land. Daisuke participates in the flawed plan to find the eagles first, which falters upon revealing the dam builders' malicious intent toward the birds. Later, he aids in confronting the project's hunters, helping block their escape routes after forest spirits drive them from the woods. His involvement peaks as he witnesses the protagonist riding a forest spirit, confirming his acceptance of the supernatural. This occurs moments before police apprehend the hunters, leading to the project's cancellation. Daisuke's journey illustrates an arc from antagonist to ally through shared adversity and a unified environmental mission.
