He undergoes temporary integration into the tactical unit "GHOST," comprising former Public Security Section 9 members operating as contractors across the western United States. His initial deployment involves joint operations with Motoko Kusanagi, Batou, Ishikawa, and Saito, targeting hostile entities in conflict zones like Palm Springs and Beverly Hills.

Batou dubs him "Clown" for his unprofessional conduct and irreverent attitude during missions. Stan participates in the high-stakes operation against Patrick Huge, a cybernetically augmented billionaire classified as a "Post-Human," where the unit confronts severe combat resistance.

Following the mission and Section 9's reinstatement under Aramaki, Stan is assessed as incompatible with the team’s protocols and security standards. Motoko Kusanagi executes a memory-erasure procedure, eliminating his recollections of Section 9 and implanting fabricated memories. This results in his permanent removal from GHOST operations.
