Description
Akari Acura, orphaned young and raised in the village of Acura, trained as a saboteur alongside her adoptive brother, Toru Acura. Following the Gaz Empire's fall and the war's end, the village disbanded, leaving Akari and Toru homeless. They settled in Delsolant, where Akari became their primary income source through guild odd jobs while Toru remained idle. Her patience with his lack of motivation wore thin, prompting her to threaten drastic measures unless he worked. This changed when they met Chaika Trabant, a silver-haired wizard carrying a coffin, who hired them to collect the scattered remains of Emperor Arthur Gaz. Despite initial concerns about the mission's dangers, Akari joined Toru in accompanying Chaika.
Akari possesses a tall, athletic build, thick green hair styled in a bulbous ponytail, and blue eyes. Her typical attire includes a pink mini skirt, a shoulderless top with a low neckline, matching pink stockings, white knee-length boots with brown accents, and a yellow knife holder strapped behind her. She is rarely without her primary weapon: a comblade sledgehammer featuring a retractable handle and a spiked head. Activating her Iron-Blood Transformation, a saboteur technique, enhances her combat capabilities: her hair turns red, and thin crimson markings appear vertically above and below her eyes and on her cheeks. This transformation optimizes her respiratory system, reflexes, and strength but increases vulnerability to poisons. Its high energy demands restrict use to half-day increments, requiring a recovery period afterward.
Akari maintains a polite, emotionless facade, though internally she experiences vivid, often perverse imaginations and fixations, particularly concerning Toru. Orphaned young, she deeply values familial loyalty, resulting in an intense, obsessive attachment to Toru that manifests as jealousy towards other women interacting with him. She frequently misinterprets situations involving him, jumping to exaggerated conclusions. Despite this dynamic, she enforces boundaries and refuses to tolerate Toru's laziness. In battle, she remains calm and analytical, leveraging acrobatic skills and physical prowess to wield her sledgehammer with agility, though prolonged combat can trigger aggressive tendencies. Outside her bond with Toru, she interacts rationally. Initially distrustful of Chaika due to jealousy, Akari gradually developed genuine care and protectiveness, treating her as a friend.
As a saboteur, Akari excels in close-range combat with her hammer, inflicting heavy damage through brute force. Her secondary arsenal includes throwing knives, explosive kunai, poisoned needles, and smokebombs, augmented by stealth and reconnaissance expertise. She gathers intelligence through informal networks like women's gossip sessions, leveraging ambiguous information to infer strategic details. Her tactical proficiency extends to trap-setting using near-invisible twine. During the quest for Gaz's remains, she faced conflicts with former allies, including her mentor Shin Acura, revealing hesitation when confronting those she once considered family. In one incident, Grad Lancia magically compelled her to hunt Toru; conscious during the ordeal and unable to resist the hypnotic command, she retained her memories afterward. Throughout the journey, her loyalty to Toru and commitment to Chaika's mission remained unwavering, even when encountering other Chaika clones challenging their goals.
