Description
Mars, originally named Mars, is an infant prince dispatched from planet Gishin to Earth in 1999 alongside the guardian robot Gaia. Emperor Zuul orchestrated his mission to activate an anti-proton bomb within Gaia to destroy Earth upon maturity. Discovered and adopted by Japanese scientist Dr. Myojin and his wife Shizuka, he is renamed Takeru Myojin and raised unaware of his alien origins for 17 years.

During his upbringing, Takeru develops extrasensory perception (ESP), manifesting as precognition for sensing danger, telepathy for interstellar communication, telekinesis for object manipulation, pyrokinesis for fire generation, and healing. These powers alert him to Gishinite threats and enable psychic piloting of Gaia. His ESP also allows duplication, creating three copies, and non-physical interaction with spectral entities.

Learning his heritage, Takeru rejects his mission and allies with Earth's defense force, the Crusher Squad. He commands Gaia and later summons five hidden robots—Uranus, Titan, Shin, Ra, and Sphinx—sent by his biological father. Combining them forms the 50-meter-tall God Mars, wielding abilities like the paralysis-inducing God Fire, the energy-absorbing Uranus Freezer, and the Mars Flash sword capable of attack reflection. God Mars achieves planetary-level durability and attack potency, amplified further by the Super Final God Mars transformation, which negates regeneration and immortality.

Takeru's defiance triggers relentless assaults from Gishin forces. A critical vulnerability emerges: Gaia's anti-proton bomb detonates if Takeru dies, forcing him to protect Earth to ensure his survival. Emperor Zuul later implants Devil Rings that drain Takeru's life force whenever he uses his powers or opposes Gishin's will. This weakness is overcome after Zuul's defeat.

His relationship with his twin brother Marg defines his arc. Initially separated, Marg is brainwashed by Zuul into opposing Takeru. Their conflict culminates in Marg's death, which haunts Takeru. Marg later guides him telepathically as a spirit. Roze, Marg's former handler, transitions from enemy to ally and romantic interest after her redemption, supporting Takeru during his decline from the Devil Rings.

The narrative spans three arcs. The first involves repelling Gishin invasions and Marg's demise. The second shifts to Marmelo, where Takeru confronts the persecution of "Minus" psychics, exposing him to interplanetary fascism. The third intensifies as Zuul resurfaces, inflicting geological disasters on Earth. Takeru battles these while the Devil Rings erode his life, culminating in a final confrontation where Super Final God Mars obliterates Zuul permanently.

Following Zuul's defeat, Takeru transcends physical existence, ascending to a higher plane with Roze to safeguard the universe, leaving Earth's protection to his allies. Official media, including the OVA *God Mars: The Untold Legend*, focus exclusively on Marg's backstory without featuring new narrative content involving Takeru beyond his established role in the television series.
