Description
Kukuri is a 13-year-old magic apprentice and the last known member of the Migu Migu tribe. A wandering stranger gave her as a baby to the old witch of Jimuna Town, who raised her. This heritage grants her access to Guru Guru, a unique dark summoning magic. She activates it by drawing circles on the ground with her staff. Only those of Migu Migu descent can wield this magic.
Her magic's success depends heavily on her emotions. Spells succeed more often when she is happy and dancing, but can fail if she feels insecure or unhappy. Repeated failures risk unintended consequences, like summoning random creatures. After ten cumulative failed spells, extreme emotional distress, such as jealousy over Nike's attention to others, triggers a transformation into Devil Kukuri, a more powerful but uncontrolled state.
Kukuri possesses a gentle-hearted and eager personality, often showing affection toward Nike, whom she consistently calls "Mr. Hero." She displays exceptional luck and skill in games and sports, including cricket and rock-paper-scissors. However, insults about her physical appearance provoke strong reactions and rage.
Her magical repertoire includes combat spells like Lizard's Tail, conjuring a fire geyser; Bemu Bemu Guardian, summoning a lightning-shooting demon; Long Winded Meow, stunning targets; and Smiling Giant, creating a horizon giant that smiles at enemies. Utility spells include Special Power-Up for temporary ally enhancements, Seal Magic Circle for immobilizing foes, Strawberry Serpent generating strawberry projectiles, and her tears manifesting as World Fixer Guru Guru, capable of undoing curses like petrification.
Kukuri's magical abilities develop significantly. Initially prone to errors and accidental summons, she gradually gains control, eventually taming powerful entities like a fearsome tiger and affectionately naming her lightning-summoning demon "Li'l Behm Behm." She loses her Guru Guru abilities upon reaching adolescence but regains them later due to her desire to adventure with Nike again.
Her relationship with Nike is central, marked by romantic interest and jealousy. She becomes upset when he flirts with others and actively pursues adventures with him. Kukuri has a sweet tooth, particularly for chocolate, denied during childhood under false pretenses of toxicity. Chocolate later serves the practical purpose of restoring her magical energy.
Kukuri's background reveals she resembles a legendary dark magic user. While initially believed the last Migu Migu, the tribe is later discovered residing in the Heavenly Realm of Anastashia, visiting her world out of boredom. She uses her magic for both combat and problem-solving, expressing emotions through spells like fixing petrification curses.
