Description
Alberic Gillette, a knight of Vermac, commands the Gillette Corps under Kleeman’s Post-war Reconstruction Implementation Agency. Tasked initially with stabilizing the fractured kingdom, his mission pivots to pursuing Chaika Trabant, determined to halt her collection of Emperor Arthur Gaz’s remains—a quest threatening to unravel fragile peace.

Once driven by unyielding ideals of justice, a transformative encounter with the enigmatic Guy fractures his idealism, warping him into a ruthless operative who thrives in conflict. Struggling to reconcile peacetime obligations with his visceral attraction to warfare, Alberic increasingly justifies brutality as necessity, exposing a psyche ill-adapted to tranquility.

His orbit includes Viivi Holopainen, a steadfast ally harboring unspoken affections he fails to recognize, and subordinates like Zita Brusasco, dispatched to coordinate with allies such as Count Abarth. Though his magnetic authority secures unwavering loyalty, his leadership fractures when external forces hijack his will: brainwashed into attacking comrades, Alberic compels Viivi to sever his sword hand mid-conflict to spare Nikolay Autotor’s life—a visceral testament to his dual role as both weapon and liability.

A master of the longsword and battlefield strategy, Alberic’s core struggle pits peacetime ideals against latent battle-addiction, rendering him a volatile paradox. Each decision oscillates between enforcing order and succumbing to the clarity of war, framing him as a tragic architect of stability perpetually drawn to chaos.
