Description
Toma Hashiba, also known as Rowen Hashiba, is the Warrior of the Sky or Strata, embodying the element of air and the virtue of Chi (interpreted as Wisdom or Life). His Tenku or Strata armor grants wind-based powers like flight, sonic blasts, and protective barriers. He wields a golden bow, utilizing the signature "Arrow Shockwave" technique to fire concentrated energy arrows.

Descended from Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Toma possesses exceptional intellect with a reported IQ of 250. He lives in Kyoto with his father, a reclusive university physics and astronomy professor described as a "mad scientist." His mother, an international journalist characterized as somewhat flighty, was 18 at his birth; they divorced when he was 12. She retains access to their apartment, maintaining a friendly relationship. Researching his lineage led Toma, aided by his mother, to discover references to the Strata armor. He located it at his paternal grandfather's shrine in Amanohashidate, where he first met Kento, staying there as a foreign student.

Analytical and level-headed, Toma often acts as the group's voice of reason. His interests include studying, detective novels, board games like go and chess, computer games, jogging, and swimming. He possesses a notable sweet tooth and substantial appetite, occasionally rivaling Kento's consumption though discussing food less. Affected by low blood pressure and late-night habits, he struggles to wake early, considering 11 a.m. an early start. He later develops a passion for baseball, supporting the Hanshin team and disliking rivals of the Kyodai team. His closest bond within the group is with Sage due to shared intellectual pursuits.

Toma debuts by rescuing Ryo from a Dynasty soldier during the initial conflict. Scattered by Talpa, he is transported to outer space, requiring Ryo's intervention for recovery. In a pivotal encounter, his attack damages warlord Anubis's helmet, revealing Anubis's human nature. Later, reconnaissance in Tokyo with Sage after Talpa's defeat leads to an encounter with Saranbo that injures Toma's right knee.

In the Gaiden OVA, Toma travels to New York to investigate Sage's disappearance. He discovers a murdered photographer at an apartment and is falsely accused of the crime by Runa. Confronting the corrupted Halo armor, he and Kento realize Sage isn't inside. Toma sustains injuries battling the armor and U.S. enforcement agencies. After Runa aids his escape, her admission of the false accusation follows his questioning. The group travels to Los Angeles, where Toma briefly frees Sage before all are captured; they ultimately contribute their powers to defeat Shikaisen.

He participates in the battle against Mukala in The Legend of the Inferno Armor OVA, where the fighters struggle without the full team and their armors. By the Message OVA, he has taken up baseball, reflecting a development in his personal interests.

Toma remains characterized by his grounded connection to everyday life—academic pursuits, hobbies, and familial relationships—contrasting with archetypal isolated warriors and emphasizing his role as an ordinary teenager thrust into extraordinary circumstances.
