Description
Potpourri is a fairy who appears in the crossover film Precure All-Stars DX3, where he joins the assembled Pretty Cure warriors and their fairy companions in protecting the Prism Flower, the miraculous flower that connects their worlds. He originates from the television series HeartCatch Precure!, in which he is introduced in the twentieth episode as a newborn fairy born from the Heart Tree after the tree regains some of its strength.

In appearance, Potpourri is a small white fairy whose design closely resembles the fairies Chypre and Coffret, though his color scheme is yellow and white rather than their green and white. He has dark brown eyes and orange heart-shaped markings on his ears, his tail, and his hair. He carries a small bag that holds an orange seed belonging to Cure Sunshine.

Despite being only a baby, Potpourri is unusually wise and calm for his age. He is perceptive about the people around him and displays a maturity that belies his youth, allowing him to remain composed and dependable even in dangerous situations.

His primary motivation is protecting the heart flowers of people and the Heart Tree itself, which serves as the source of the fairies' power and their connection to the world. Like the other HeartCatch fairies, he is entrusted with aiding the Pretty Cure in their battle against the Desert Apostles. Although he is newly born, he is notably proactive in battle: he quickly identifies the victims of the Desert Apostles, warns humans to evacuate when danger arises, and is even willing to shield the Pretty Cure with his own body. Compared with many earlier fairies in the franchise, he is presented as an especially capable supporter who does not hesitate to take an active role on the front lines.

His most distinctive ability is a defensive power that lets him create a sunflower-shaped barrier to protect his friends from enemy attacks. This barrier proves valuable when the Pretty Cure face overwhelming opposition, granting them the time they need to recover and continue fighting.

Potpourri's most important relationship is with Itsuki Myoudouin, who later becomes Cure Sunshine. In the twenty-second episode of HeartCatch Precure!, Potpourri identifies Itsuki as a true candidate to become a Pretty Cure, marking the beginning of their bond. He also shares a connection with the other HeartCatch fairies, Chypre and Coffret, who are his senior companions among the fairy allies. In the All-Stars crossover film, he appears alongside the full gathering of Pretty Cure and their fairy partners when the merging worlds and the revived villains threaten the Prism Flower.

In terms of development, Potpourri's arc in his home series is tied to the recovery of the Heart Tree and the growth of the Precure team. His birth is itself a sign of renewed hope, and his steady, watchful nature makes him a reliable presence as the conflict intensifies. In the crossover film, he is part of the larger ensemble of fairies and warriors who must find a way to save the connected worlds when the Prism Flower comes under threat.

His name is derived from potpourri, a mixture of dried plant materials used to provide fragrance, which fits the botanical and floral themes of HeartCatch Precure! and the rainbow flower central to the crossover film.
