Description
Astarte is a homunculus crafted to serve Rudolf Eustach, distinguished by her blue hair and blue eyes. Her face typically remains expressionless, a reflection of her artificial origins. She holds the unique distinction of being the first successful homunculus to host a familiar, Rhododactylos, within her body—a feat once considered impossible. The familiar first appears as two additional arms extending from her back, which possess the ability to drain magic from other familiars. This absorption grants Astarte supernatural strength and durability. In its advanced state, the familiar manifests as a white humanoid form, with Astarte herself encased within a green orb in its chest. This powerful form can negate magic through the use of divine vibrations.
Her initial demeanor is robotic and devoid of emotion, often replying with a flat "Accept." She rarely speaks and shows no feeling, aligning with her purpose as a tool for her master. After her defeat and the downfall of Rudolf Eustach, she is sentenced to three years of probation. She is then placed under the supervision of Natsuki Minamiya and begins a new role serving as a maid.
Throughout her probation, her personality slowly evolves. She starts to exhibit a wider range of emotions and demonstrates signs of independent thinking. She does not object to serving Natsuki and takes pleasure in teasing Kojou Akatsuki under Natsuki's direction.
Her connection to Kojou Akatsuki is profound. She chose to betray her creator, Rudolf Eustach, to aid Kojou and ensure his protection. Kojou reacted with fury upon discovering that the implantation of her familiar had drastically reduced her life expectancy. After overcoming her in battle, he subdued her familiar to extend her life and consistently shows concern for her safety whenever she is harmed. Astarte is implied to have developed feelings for Kojou, a possibility underscored when she defied Natsuki to help him escape and reunite with his sister.
She has no known parents or relatives, having been created and subjected to numerous experiments within Rudolf Eustach's clandestine laboratory.
