Description
Astarte is a homunculus created solely as an experimental tool by Rudolf Eustach, devoid of personal connection. Her creation achieved the previously impossible feat of implanting the familiar Rhododactylos into a homunculus body, a success that drastically shortened her lifespan. Rhododactylos manifests as energy arms or a humanoid form encasing her, granting supernatural strength, durability, magic absorption, and the power to negate magic via divine vibrations.

Initially displaying minimal emotion, Astarte responded in a flat, robotic tone with little expressive range, reflecting her artificial nature. After Rudolf Eustach's defeat, she received a three-year probation sentence under the supervision of Natsuki Minamiya, serving as her maid. This new environment marked a significant shift.

Interactions during her probation facilitated gradual emotional development. Astarte began exhibiting subtle expressions of independence and more recognizable emotions. She engaged in teasing behavior, often directed at Kojou Akatsuki and seemingly under Natsuki's guidance or approval, indicating emerging personality traits.

Astarte formed a significant bond with Kojou Akatsuki. She defied Rudolf Eustach to aid Kojou, prioritizing his safety despite risks. Kojou demonstrated concern for her well-being, particularly regarding her familiar's life-shortening effects. After her defeat in conflict, he brought Rhododactylos under his control to extend her lifespan. Astarte later acted against Natsuki's directives to assist Kojou in reuniting with his sister Nagisa, with implications of underlying romantic feelings motivating her actions.

Her relationship with Natsuki evolved into one of mutual, unconventional respect. Astarte performed her maid duties without complaint and participated in the teasing of Kojou, suggesting integration into her role beyond mere obligation.

Astarte's story encompasses her creation and service under Rudolf Eustach, her pivotal role in the conflict leading to his defeat, her subsequent probation under Natsuki Minamiya, and her ongoing relationships and emotional growth. Her experiences span multiple story arcs, including The Right Arm of the Saint and Return of the Alchemist, reflecting her journey from a tool to an individual with emerging agency and connections.
