Description
Sasuke, a brown and white Shiba Inu, wears a blue collar in the manga but appears without it in the anime. Introduced as a timid, enslaved dog under Nero, his liberation by Weed and GB sparks a transformative shift from fearful submission to devoted loyalty, fueled by gratitude for his newfound freedom.

Once a beloved pet separated from his owners for two years, his manga storyline features a televised reunion after journeying with Weed and GB, though he abandons them again to combat Hōgen, prioritizing duty over comfort. The anime omits this reunion; instead, he vanishes early, resurfaces in Hōgen’s ranks claiming he couldn’t find his owners, and later defects to the Ōu army.

Though plagued by cowardice, Sasuke intermittently reveals courage, clashing humorously with GB in a bond defined by bickering and unspoken trust. His tactical ingenuity emerges in schemes like deceiving enemy forces during the Kamakiri skirmish, and he risks confronting formidable foes, such as aiding GB against Hybrid Bears. Emotional vulnerability surfaces in tearful reactions to GB’s death and shared grief with Weed.

Later arcs broaden his responsibilities: guiding reinforcements in the Shougen conflict, babysitting Weed’s children in *Ginga Densetsu Weed: Orion*, and rescuing pups during a volcanic crisis. In *Ginga: The Last Wars*, he retrieves Weed’s sons from training and battles Monsoon’s forces, surviving grave injuries through medical intervention.

A fleeting romance with Chako, a Kishu female, exposes his insecurities as he spins false heroics to win her affection. Her rejection after uncovering his true nature accentuates his struggle with self-worth. Ultimately, he remains a steadfast Ōu soldier, blending comic antics with sporadic bravery, cementing his legacy as an imperfect yet unwavering ally.
