Description
Ai, known affectionately as Ai-chan, is a baby fairy mascot hatched from a mysterious egg. Initially bonded to Cure Ace as her companion, she was separated during a clash with the Selfish King, reverting to an egg discovered in a river by Joe. Though her origins puzzled those who found her, later revelations unveiled her true identity as Princess Marie Ange, whose existence split into dual halves: one of purity (embodied by Cure Ace, Madoka Aguri) and one of malice (manifested as Regina). After enduring prolonged separation, Ai reunited with Cure Ace, restoring their partnership.
Her appearance features fair skin, large blue eyes accentuated by curled yellow markings, and pink hair styled into heart-shaped buns fastened with yellow flowers. Pale pink heart markings adorn her cheeks, while her attire includes a yellow onesie with a white bib marked by a fuchsia heart, light purple booties, and delicate angel wings.
Playfully dubbed "mother" and "father" by others, Aida Mana and Kenzaki Makoto share a protective, familial bond with Ai. Joe, her discoverer, remains privy to her history and advises those safeguarding her. Her speech uniquely concludes with phrases like "~kyupi" or "~kyupirapa."
Functionally, Ai channels powers typical of fairy allies, summoning Loveads to aid protagonists and conjuring protective barriers. Her name, rooted in the Japanese word for "love," mirrors her thematic essence. A narrative arc tracing her fragmented existence—from division as Princess Marie Ange to reconciliation with Cure Ace—underscores themes of unity and redemption.
