Galvatron arises from Megatron's remnants, resurrected and physically reconfigured by Unicron a decade after Megatron's initial destruction. To enforce loyalty, Unicron implanted a cerebro shell into his spark, tasking him with collecting energon to restore Unicron's power. Over time, as Unicron's psychic influence weakened, Galvatron redeveloped Megatron's original personality and ambitions, leading him to betray Unicron and seize command of the Decepticons. He exhibits extreme physical strength, speed, and endurance, with no documented weaknesses beyond inherent arrogance. Galvatron employs multiple plasma cannons for ranged combat and wields a plasma blade for close-quarters engagements. He also commands a tank drone equipped with a powerful mortar cannon, enhancing his tactical versatility. After Megatron's exposure to a subterranean reservoir of Super Energon on Cybertron, he undergoes a physical and mental metamorphosis, emerging as Galvatron. This transformation grants enhanced capabilities and fortifies his Decepticon leadership. He subsequently allies with the dormant guardians Bruticus Maximus and Constructicon Maximus, while Superion Maximus defects to the Autobots. Galvatron orchestrates Cybertron's takeover by rupturing energon towers, blanketing the planet in toxic energon gas to immobilize Autobot forces. He then utilizes the planet's energon grid to relocate Cybertron toward Alpha Q's reconstituted worlds, intending to harness their resources. During the conflict, Galvatron immerses himself a second time in the Super Energon, achieving colossal size. This act allows Unicron's lingering consciousness to fully possess him, directing him to merge with Unicron's spark in deep space. Optimus Prime intervenes, draining Unicron's essence from Galvatron and reigniting his independent will. In final defiance against Unicron's control, Galvatron deliberately plunges into a nascent sun created by Primus from the Super Energon. His sacrifice triggers the sun's ignition, revitalizing Alpha Q's worlds and neutralizing Unicron's threat permanently.
