TV-Series
Description
Momoko Togame is a supporting magical girl from Kamihama City who first appears in the game Magia Record and its anime adaptation. She is a sixteen-year-old first-year high school student at Kamihama City University Affiliated School, recognizable by her long blonde hair tied into a ponytail with a red scrunchie and her reddish-brown eyes. As the middle child raised alongside older and younger brothers, Momoko developed a boyish frankness and a straightforward, no-nonsense manner of speaking. Despite this outward tomboyishness, she has a deeply sentimental side and loves cute, girly things such as stuffed animals, and she is also an enthusiastic fan of female idols.

Momoko became a magical girl after making a wish for the courage to confess her feelings to a boy she liked. However, before she could act on that wish, another girl confessed to the same boy first, leaving Momoko heartbroken and her wish effectively void. This experience shaped her motivation to protect and support other magical girls who are still finding their way. She takes on a reliable, elder-sister-like role and often rescues rookie magical girls who find themselves in danger, acting as a mentor and guardian figure in the Kamihama magical girl community.

In the main story, Momoko is part of a team that includes her close friends Kaede Akino and Rena Minami, and she is also a former teammate of the veteran magical girl Yachiyo Nanami. She gets along well with the coordinator Mitama Yakumo and leads her own unit, often referred to as Team Momoko. Her role in the narrative is largely that of a supportive ally to the protagonist Iroha Tamaki and her group, offering aid during witch battles and helping to investigate the unusual phenomena spreading across Kamihama City. Momoko is a loyal friend who mediates conflicts within her team, particularly the frequent friction between the more emotional Kaede and the prickly Rena, and she consistently puts the safety and well-being of her teammates above her own.

Throughout the events of the series, Momoko experiences growth in her understanding of what it means to protect others and in her willingness to rely on her friends during difficult times. She is shown to be dependable and courageous, yet also possesses a playful, easily embarrassed side that emerges when her fondness for cute things is exposed. In terms of abilities, Momoko fights with a pair of circular, yo-yo-like weapons that she wields with considerable agility and force. Her magical abilities focus on supportive and offensive techniques, and like all magical girls in the Kamihama region, she has access to a doppel—a manifestation of her inner turmoil—that takes the form of a Halloween-themed entity restrained by her watchful gaze. Her personal magical girl story, called Love and Lousy Timing, explores the intersections of her romantic past, her friendships, and her sense of duty.
