Description
Momoko Togame is a 16-year-old magical girl from Shinsei Ward. She attends Kamihama City University Affiliated School as a tenth-grade student and lives as the middle child between an older and younger brother, fostering her boyish demeanor despite a strong affinity for cute items like stuffed animals and female idols.

In her civilian form, she has long blonde hair tied in a ponytail with a red scrunchie and reddish-brown eyes. Her magical girl outfit consists of a white tunic revealing a dark cropped top, pale green sleeves with gold-trimmed cuffs, dark brown gloves, a translucent ruffled skirt with armor plating, and white boots. She wields a large, curved machete as her primary weapon, and her soul gem appears as a reddish-brown shield on her chest [citation:]. Her magic focuses on encouragement, enhancing allies' capabilities in battle.

Her backstory centers on a wish made to Kyubey for "the courage to confess my feelings to the boy I like." Another girl confessed to him before she could act, rendering her wish futile and instilling a recurring theme of "bad timing" in her life. She later joined a team with Yachiyo Nanami, Mifuyu Azusa, Tsuruno Yui, and Mel Anna. During a witch hunt without Tsuruno, Mel sacrificed herself to save the group, transforming into a witch. Enraged at Kyubey and disillusioned with the team, Momoko left after this tragedy.

She subsequently met Rena Minami at an idol concert, where they cooperated to defeat a witch. Rena, initially struggling in combat, used her ability to shapeshift into Momoko. Their successful partnership led to forming a team. Kaede Akino later joined after Momoko found her in a labyrinth. Momoko acted as an older-sister figure to both, though she struggled with vulnerability, like embarrassment when they picked a revealing swimsuit for her. She eventually revealed the truth about witches to Rena and Kaede, causing them significant emotional distress.

Her character development involves confronting her perceived "bad timing." In reflection, she acknowledges her own hesitations contributed to past regrets, notably her failed confession. She finds solace in her magical girl life through bonds with Rena and Kaede, stating that meeting them represented "good timing" after all. She is affiliated with the Kamihama Magia Union and briefly aligned with the Wings of the Magius as a white feather in the anime adaptation.

In combat, her Connect skill "So What If I'm Overbearing?!" pierces enemy defenses and boosts ally attack power. Her Magia, "The Universe's Edge," damages enemies while enhancing allies' charged attacks. At maximum Magia level, she accesses her Doppel, Elfriede—the Doppel of Self-Discipline. It manifests as giant, manicured fingers and flying nails, attacking indiscriminately. This Doppel reacts intensely to praise or criticism about its nails, becoming elated or despondent, making immediate deployment upon summoning strategically preferable.
