Description
Daisuke Hiyama, a former classmate of Hajime Nagumo, emerges as a central antagonist fueled by jealousy and obsession. Once a school bully commanding a group of delinquents, he targets Hajime out of bitter resentment toward Kaori Shirasaki’s affections for him. Transported to the fantasy realm of Tortus alongside their class, Daisuke’s vendetta escalates into violent, morally bankrupt schemes.
With short brown hair, sharp eyes, and a delinquent demeanor, his arrogance and narcissism mask deep-seated cowardice. Driven by possessive obsession over Kaori, he rationalizes betrayals and manipulations as altruistic acts, though his motives remain selfish. Granted the "Light Warrior" job class in Tortus, he wields fire magic and frontline combat skills, yet consistently lags behind the protagonists’ prowess.
During a fateful expedition into the Great Orcus Labyrinth, Daisuke’s recklessness triggers a trap, stranding classmates on a lethal floor. Seizing the chaos, he covertly launches a fireball at Hajime, hurling him into the abyss. Presuming Hajime dead, Daisuke becomes ensnared by Eri Nakamura’s blackmail, partnering with her to manipulate classmates, ally with demons, and orchestrate assaults—all under false promises of securing Kaori.
Hajime’s unexpected return shatters Daisuke’s façade. Desperate to maintain proximity to Kaori, he feigns reconciliation, only to face rejection and veiled threats. His obsession crescendos when aiding Eri’s grotesque plot to transform Kaori into an undead puppet, culminating in a botched assassination during the Heiligh Kingdom’s siege. In their final clash, Hajime subdues him, abandoning Daisuke to a swarm of monsters—a grim reflection of his own past treachery.
Rooted in a history of bullying and parental ignorance toward his true nature, Daisuke’s path in Tortus exposes a pattern of manipulation, abandoned allies, and self-justified cruelty. Fleeting guilt fails to curb his descent, cementing his legacy as a self-serving traitor. His unrepentant demise leaves classmates grappling with their roles in his downfall, sparking both reformation and retribution among survivors.
