Description
Myulan, also referred to as Mjurran or Mjur Farmenas, is a significant supporting character in the story. Originally a highly skilled witch who lived for three hundred years, she was a powerful magic user who sought to extend her life and escape the fear of death. This desperation led her to accept an offer from the demon lord Clayman, who placed a cursed spell known as the Marionette Heart upon her. This curse effectively turned her into a puppet, stripping her of free will and forcing her to serve as one of his agents, known as the Ring Finger of his Five Fingers. Under Clayman's control, she infiltrated the city of Tempest while disguised as an ordinary human. Her mission was to gather intelligence and sabotage the federation, and during this time she became close to Youm, a human leader allied with Rimuru. This developing romantic relationship caused her to begin questioning her orders and her loyalty to Clayman. During the orchestrated attack on Tempest, Myulan was compelled to activate a powerful magical barrier that nullified magic within the city, a catastrophic act that led to the deaths of Shion and many other citizens. The immense guilt and suffering she witnessed prompted her to rebel against Clayman, fully aware that defying him could cost her life. After the attack, she was confronted by Rimuru and his allies. Instead of retribution, Rimuru recognized her genuine remorse and chose to spare her, embodying his philosophy of extending second chances. Freed from Clayman's curse, Myulan chose to live in Tempest alongside Youm, dedicating herself to the city's reconstruction and contributing her vast magical knowledge to strengthen the federation. Her relationship with Youm deepened into a genuine partnership built on trust and mutual growth, and she later became the first queen of the renamed Farmenas Kingdom and the mother of Mieme Farmenas. Throughout her journey, Myulan transforms from a manipulated tool into a redeemed figure defined by her desire for redemption, her capacity for love, and her commitment to building a better life. Her abilities are centered around her extensive magical expertise, which includes powerful offensive spells, barrier magic, and the knowledge accumulated over centuries of study. While not physically formidable compared to the strongest beings in the world, her magical prowess makes her a valuable ally. Her role in the narrative is that of a catalyst for one of the series' most emotional turning points, demonstrating the themes of forgiveness, free will, and the complexity of morality. Though her screen time is limited and her presence remains understated compared to the more action-oriented characters, her arc is one of the most human and emotionally resonant in the series.
