Description
Aki Kisaragi is a member of the Space Knights and serves as the co-pilot and navigator of the spaceship Blue Earth. She possesses a strong personality and exhibits maternal appeal toward D-Boy. During the prolonged war against alien invasion, she falls in love with him and provides undying support.
After the original series, Aki continues to care for Takaya Aiba, known as D-Boy, who remains in a catatonic state following the Radam War. She grows increasingly frustrated and desperate to restore his health. When a new Radam invasion causes D-Boy great pain, medical examinations reveal his link to the new Radam threatens his life. In desperation, Aki insists on undergoing transformation using a Radam Tekka Plant to become a Tekkaman herself, defeating the new threat. However, seeing her in Tekkaman armor causes D-Boy to fear her, causing her devastation.
Aki later becomes the leader of the Space Knights, with D-Boy serving as her shadowy second-in-command. She transforms into a red Tekkaman with the assistance of a new Pegas robot, as her transformation requires external stabilization. Her Tekkaman abilities are incomplete; she can leap great distances but lacks thrusters for flight and does not possess a Voltekka weapon.
During the Black September Incident, thousands of humans altered by the Radam rally in Prague under a Tekkaman cult leader. Aki, referred to as the Red Devil, is deployed to quell the uprising. She kills the leader before assisting in the evacuation of the city and rescues David Krueger moments before a nuclear attack annihilates Prague.
As leader, Aki oversees the training of a new generation of Tekkamen, including Yumi Francois, David Krueger, and Natasha Pablochiva. She briefs the team on missions and intervenes directly in battles when necessary. Her relationship with D-Boy remains central, as they have been in love for over a decade, which causes frustration for David, who is infatuated with her. Aki is a firm believer in science and often dismisses superstition.
Aki's hair and eye color change from dark blue and brown to green between the original series and the sequel, possibly due to her metamorphosis into a Tekkaman or changes in animation design.
