Description
Andrew "Agil" Gilbert Mills is an African-American man born in Ueno, Tokyo to parents who deeply appreciated Japanese culture. In his mid-twenties, he established and managed the Dicey Café in Okachimachi, where he met a foreign woman named Trish who shared his interests; they later married. When he became trapped in the VRMMORPG Sword Art Online at launch, he adopted the avatar name Agil from his first and middle names. Within SAO, Agil appeared as a large, bald man standing 180 centimeters tall with a brown goatee, brown eyes, and two silver earrings on his left ear, typically dressed in jungle green robes with gray armor. He ran a merchant shop on the 50th Floor’s Algade under a buy cheap and sell cheap philosophy, and though outwardly profit-driven, he secretly used his earnings to support mid-level players. As a frontline combatant specializing in two-handed battle axes, he reached Level 83 by the game’s end, wielding the Ground Gorge battle axe and mastering skills including Two-handed Battle Axe, Parry, Equipment Appraisal, Purchase Negotiation, and Extended Weight Limit. Agil defended beta testers against Kibaou’s accusations at the first-floor boss strategy meeting and fought in multiple floor boss battles, including the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth floors. During the fifth-floor boss battle, his party collaborated with Kirito to secure the Flag of Valor ahead of rival guilds. He also aided Kirito in investigations such as the Murder Case in the Area quest. After escaping SAO, Andrew returned to find that his wife had preserved the Dicey Café during his absence and resumed management. He later played ALfheim Online as a Gnome, retaining a similar appearance but wearing dark moss green robes. In January 2025, he identified a screenshot of Asuna trapped in ALO, providing this information to Kirito along with a physical copy of the game and an explanation of its mechanics. The Dicey Café subsequently hosted gatherings for SAO survivors, including celebrations for the game’s clearance and Asuna’s rescue. Agil appeared in the Extra Edition OVA, joining Kirito’s party for the Deep Sea Plunderers quest, and his café served as a meeting venue for Kirito and Sinon in the Phantom Bullet arc. In the Progressive film Aria of a Starless Night, he attended the first-floor boss strategy meeting and participated in the battle against Illfang the Kobold Lord, though he was paralyzed during the fight’s final phase and unable to contribute further.
