Andrew "Agil" Gilbert Mills, an African-American man born in Ueno, Tokyo to parents deeply appreciating Japanese culture, established and managed the Dicey Café in Okachimachi during his mid-twenties. Among his patrons was a foreign woman named Trish (sometimes identified as Kathy), who shared his interests; they married. Andrew became trapped in the VRMMORPG Sword Art Online at launch, adopting the avatar name "Agil" from his first and middle names, Andrew Gilbert. Within SAO, Agil ran a merchant shop on the 50th Floor's Algade, promoting a "buy cheap and sell cheap" philosophy. His avatar was a large, bald man with a brown goatee, brown eyes, two silver earrings on his left ear, typically dressed in jungle green robes with gray armor. As a frontline combatant specializing in two-handed battle axes, he reached Level 83 by the game's end. His primary weapon was the "Ground Gorge" battle axe, and his skills included Two-handed Battle Axe, Parry, Equipment Appraisal, Purchase Negotiation, and Extended Weight Limit. While outwardly profit-driven, he secretly used his earnings to support mid-level players' progression. Agil displayed leadership during key events, defending beta testers against Kibaou's accusations at the first-floor boss strategy meeting. He fought in multiple floor boss battles, including the first, second, third, and fourth floors. During the "Scherzo of Deep Night" storyline's fifth-floor boss battle, Agil's party collaborated with Kirito to secure the "Flag of Valor" ahead of rival guilds, aiming to maintain faction balance. He also aided Kirito in investigations like the "Murder Case in the Area" quest. After escaping SAO, Andrew returned to find his wife had preserved the Dicey Café during his absence. He resumed management and later played ALfheim Online as a Gnome, retaining a similar appearance to his SAO avatar but wearing dark moss green robes. In January 2025, he identified a screenshot of Asuna trapped in ALO, providing this information to Kirito along with a physical copy of the game and an explanation of its mechanics. The Dicey Café subsequently hosted gatherings for SAO survivors, including celebrations for the game's clearance and Asuna's rescue. Agil appeared in the "Extra Edition" OVA, joining Kirito's party for the "Deep Sea Plunderers" quest. His cameo in the "Phantom Bullet" arc showed the café serving as a meeting venue for Kirito and Sinon. In the Progressive film "Aria of a Starless Night," Agil attended the first-floor boss strategy meeting and participated in the battle against Illfang the Kobold Lord, though his role was reduced; he was paralyzed during the fight's final phase and rendered unable to contribute further. His involvement in the "Alicization" arc remains unspecified.
