Discovering Kyou Shou's severed head ignited Kyou Kai's wrath; she slaughtered the participating clan elders and departed, vowing vengeance against Yuu Ren. Her quest led her to enlist as an infantry soldier in the Qin military. Assigned to Taku Kei's squad during the Keiyou Campaign, her initial aloofness and silence concealed extraordinary strategic and combat abilities. She first revealed tactical ingenuity at the Battle of Dakan Plains, devising a method to counter war chariots by advising soldiers to pile corpses as barriers and target chariot wheels. Physically petite with pale skin, jade-green eyes, and black hair, Kyou Kai's early appearances featured shoulder-length hair tied in a white-ribboned ponytail. After a post-Coalition Invasion timeskip, strands overlapped her signature white headband marked with red tribal patterns. Following her confession to Shin, she reverted to her original hairstyle.
