Description
Ryosuke Takahashi leads the Akagi RedSuns street racing team and drives a white Mazda Savanna RX-7 FC3S. Known as the "White Comet of Akagi" for his undefeated record and skilled driving on mountain passes, his racing approach is highly analytical, relying on theoretical predictions and precise calculations to assess opponents and outcomes.

He attended medical college at his parents' insistence to become a doctor. During this time, he formed a relationship with Kaori, who encouraged his passion for street racing. Societal and familial pressures, including Kaori's arranged marriage to another man, led to her suicide, which deeply affected Ryosuke. He later guided his younger brother Keisuke Takahashi away from delinquency by introducing him to street racing, eventually making him a member of the RedSuns.

Ryosuke first noticed Takumi Fujiwara after Takumi defeated Keisuke in a downhill race on Mount Akina. He meticulously studied Takumi’s driving, particularly his gutter run and four-wheel drift, recognizing a unique and instinctual talent that challenged his own theoretical methods. This led to a race between them on Mount Akina where Ryosuke initially led but lost due to excessive tire wear, ending his undefeated streak. He then temporarily retired from active racing.

He later returned to face Kyoichi Sudo, leader of Team Emperor, who was trying to dominate the Gunma racing scene. By identifying a flaw in Sudo’s technique involving oncoming traffic on two-way roads, Ryosuke won, protecting the region’s racing reputation.

After this, he disbanded the RedSuns and founded Project D, a new team aiming to conquer racing circuits across the Kanto region within a year before he returned to medical studies. He invited both Takumi Fujiwara and Keisuke to join as primary drivers. In Project D, he served as a mentor and strategist, providing technical advice and race theories to guide his drivers against skilled opponents.

His character is calm, intellectual, and methodical, often observing races to analyze techniques and devise strategies. His ultimate goal is to develop and prove a complete "Fastest Racing Theory," viewing Takumi’s natural driving style as essential to refining this theory.

Following Project D’s successful campaign, the team disbanded and Ryosuke returned to medical school to fulfill his original path.
