Description
Yurine Hanazono is a human witch who summoned the lamia Jashin-chan from Hell using a grimoire. Unable to reverse the summoning, she now faces Jashin-chan's repeated attempts to kill her and return to Hell, responding with brutal physical retaliation using various weapons, though she generally treats others kindly. Her family owns Hanazono Shrine in Shinjuku and has connections to black market organ trafficking.

Physically, Yurine has maroon hair styled in pigtails ending in hair drills and red eyes. She consistently wears gothic lolita attire and a white eyepatch over her fully functional left eye. She stands 162.5 cm tall and was born on October 31.

Personality-wise, Yurine appears cold and cynical, offering sarcastic commentary as an audience surrogate and voice of reason amidst chaos. Underneath lies a strict yet caring nature. She harbors delusions of grandeur, having identified as "Zabiel the Black, Preacher of Evil" and aspiring to become Earth's sole dictator in her youth. A self-proclaimed "powerful black magician," she rarely uses magic. She exhibits sadistic tendencies primarily toward Jashin-chan but remains relatively calm in other interactions. Her interests include watching gory horror films and devising creative torture methods for Jashin-chan. Cockroaches are her sole known fear.

Yurine's relationships are complex. She punishes Jashin-chan relentlessly for murder attempts or perceived transgressions, employing weapons like machetes or chainsaws. Despite this, she houses Jashin-chan as a familiar responsible for chores. Her friendships with Minos and Medusa began after Jashin-chan tried exploiting them; Medusa’s petrification failed against Yurine’s anti-petrification bracelet, purportedly bought in Akihabara. Minos eventually moved next door. Yurine is protective of Pekora, offering food and shelter despite Pekora's distrust. She defends angels Poporon and Pino from Jashin-chan’s harassment, bowing respectfully to Pino. She collaborates with the demon Koji to brutalize Jashin-chan and sold Jashin-chan to officer Mei Tachibana to settle debts. She befriended Persephone II and shielded her from Jashin-chan’s aggression.

Yurine possesses supernatural abilities: superhuman strength enabling feats like catching knives midair, leaping great heights, throwing objects at supersonic speeds, and damaging demons; enhanced durability allowing her to withstand assaults like Jashin-chan’s dropkicks while ill; and enhanced speed, creating afterimages in combat. She excels in melee weaponry. Her barrier creation stems from sacred powers linked to her family’s shrine; she once enveloped the shrine to exclude Jashin-chan. Though she rarely practices black magic, she used it to summon Jashin-chan, maintains a hidden magic room in her desk, and sleeps within a protective magic circle.

Her equipment includes an extensive arsenal: a signature black sawback machete; a half-priced silver trident; a yellow chainsaw; discounted axes and spears; knuckles; oversized scissors; a taser; flails; steel pipes; and a bow with tracking arrows. She also possesses the anti-petrification bracelet.

Yurine studies cultural anthropology and works part-time at a costume café. At age 19, she stopped aging due to "warped manga logic." Characters like Persephone II and Pino occasionally question her humanity due to her unholy behavior toward Jashin-chan.
