Description
Ikuyo Kita enters Shuka High School as a first-year and soon joins Kessoku Band as vocalist and rhythm guitarist. She sports bright red hair with grown-out bangs and distinct yellow eyes. Her standard attire is the Shuka High uniform: a white sailor top featuring yellow buttons, a red ribbon tie, a gray pleated skirt, white socks, and maroon shoes. She stands approximately 158 centimeters tall, weighs 44 kilograms, and has blood type A.

Kita radiates an extroverted and sociable personality, embracing the "party person" label. She actively connects with others via social media, particularly Isosta under @kita0421. While naturally cheerful and quick to form bonds, she sometimes unintentionally comes across as blunt, especially towards introverts. Despite her popularity and athleticism, Kita privately views herself as mediocre compared to her bandmates. She strongly dislikes her given name "Ikuyo" due to its phonetic associations and insists on being called solely by her surname, Kita.

Her journey into music began with admiration for Ryo Yamada after a street performance, leading her to join Kessoku Band despite having no guitar experience. Overwhelmed by fear of inadequacy, she fled before their debut live show. Hitori Gotoh intervened, prompting Kita to confess her deception and rejoin. During this reconciliation, it was revealed she mistakenly bought a six-string bass instead of a guitar; Ryo purchased the bass and lent Kita her own Gibson Les Paul Junior DC in Pelham Blue for indefinite use.

Kita dedicated herself to guitar practice under Hitori's guidance. Her growth became evident at the school cultural festival when she improvised vocals to cover for Hitori's equipment malfunction, displaying newfound confidence. This moment spurred her to shift from formally addressing Hitori as "Gotoh-san" to the familiar "Hitori-chan." She later managed the band's social media, attempted songwriting for their mini-album, and participated in promotions. This focus caused her grades to slip, creating tension with her mother. Encouraged by bandmates, she worked to balance band commitments and academics.

Within Kessoku Band, which she considers a "second family," Kita seeks to discover her identity through music. Her view of Ryo evolved from idolization to grounded respect as she recognized Ryo's flaws. She developed mutual respect with Hitori, supporting her through school challenges while acknowledging Hitori's musical dedication. Nijika Ijichi noted Kita's occasional unintentional harshness but maintained a supportive friendship. While generally stable, her family life included periodic conflicts with her mother over priorities.

Notable trivia includes her birthday on April 21, a numerical homage to Kensuke Kita of Asian Kung-Fu Generation (sharing the surname). Her gear includes a Boss BD-2 Blues Driver and Pro Co RAT pedals. A misinterpreted finger gesture in an anime ending sequence was later clarified by the animator. A later manga chapter depicted her carrying athlete's foot medication, sparking fan discussion. Her manga debut occurred in Chapter 5, contrasting with an earlier anime introduction. Kita's journey focuses on overcoming self-perceived mediocrity through musical collaboration, navigating social expectations, and forging connections within her band.
