His physical clashes with Fudō Nomura begin with a sumo match where Nomura’s raw strength allows him to hoist the bear, concluding the skirmish on neutral terms. Over time, Kyo-bo forms an unlikely bond with Nomura, sparked by the latter’s unexpected defense against a log trap—a gesture that shifts their rivalry toward mutual respect.

When Kyo-bo fathers a cub, Domou (alternately Doumo), the group unites to locate the temporarily missing youngster, cementing the bear’s place within their collective efforts.
