Description
Shiho Ichimura is an 18-year-old backup dancer in the idol group Mystery Kiss. Due to protagonist Hiroshi Odokawa's visual agnosia, she initially appears as a calico cat with multicolored hair, red eyes, a white head featuring brown patches, a black left ear, a brown right ear, a white long-sleeved blouse with a black ribbon, a beige skirt, and orange loafers. Her human form becomes clear in the film *Odd Taxi: In the Woods*, reflecting Odokawa's recovered perception.
Growing up in poverty subjected to bullying and parental derision, she developed lasting self-esteem issues. Lacking personal space, she found solitude only in the bath, fostering a hobby of visiting hot springs. This background fuels her ambition for wealth, viewing idol work as a path to financial stability and a home with a large bath.
Within Mystery Kiss, she wears a mask during performances and feels overshadowed by lead singer Rui Nikaido's popularity and fellow member Yuki Mitsuya's dancing skills, questioning her role due to lacking Rui's allure or Mitsuya's talent.
Her desire for wealth drives morally ambiguous actions. Under manager Fuyuki Yamamoto's direction, she participates in "badger games," using dating apps to lure men like Eiji Kakihana (impersonating wealth) for extortion, feigning romantic interest and later facilitating his delivery to yakuza member Haruhito Yano. After Sakura Wadagaki (impersonating Mitsuya) murders Mitsuya, Shiho assists Yamamoto in disposing of the body with yakuza help. In exchange, Mystery Kiss surrenders half their future earnings to the yakuza. Both backup dancers wear masks during performances to conceal Wadagaki's identity.
The film *Odd Taxi: In the Woods* restructures and extends the series' events. Its credits confirm Shiho survives a confrontation with Wadagaki, who is arrested for Mitsuya's murder and other crimes. Her actions remain driven by economic desperation, with no significant character evolution or explicit redemption arc depicted across official media.
