In the "Ancient China" story arc of *Dinosaur King*, specifically the episode "Elements of Surprise", the Elder leads a village suffering a prolonged drought. Mistaking Ursula (disguised as Sanzo Hoshi) and her Alpha Gang companions for possessing mystical rain-summoning abilities, he prepares a village feast in their honor. When the D-Team arrives with the real Sanzo Hoshi, the Elder explains that demons—Lady Tessan and the Bull King—once sealed in statues, have been unleashed from the nearby Fire Mountain. He pleads with Sanzo to reseal them peacefully.

After Sanzo departs alone to confront the threat, the village faces imminent destruction from a volcanic eruption triggered by Shear's Mapusaurus using Heat Eruption. The D-Team intervenes to evacuate the villagers, though the Elder initially mistakes their dinosaurs for the Bull King demon. Following the D-Team's successful diversion of the lava flow and quenching of the volcano by their dinosaurs, the Elder credits Sanzo's chanting for saving the village, remaining unaware of the D-Team's direct actions. New statues resembling Shear and his Mapusaurus are later erected where the original demon statues stood. This character's role is confined entirely to this single episode.
