Description
Sun Wukong in "Son-goku Is Coming: Chapter of Kōfū Daiō" originates from the 16th-century Chinese novel *Journey to the West*. Born from a magical stone atop the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit, this monkey discovered a waterfall cave and became the Handsome Monkey King. Seeking immortality, he trained under the Taoist master Puti Zushi, gaining supernatural abilities such as 72 transformations, cloud travel (Jindouyun), immense strength, and the power to create clones from his hairs.

He obtained his weapon, the extendable Ruyi Jingu Bang staff, from Dragon King Ao Guang; it was originally used to stabilize the oceans. After rebelling against heaven, stealing heavenly peaches and elixirs, and causing chaos, Buddha imprisoned him under a mountain. Centuries later, he was freed to accompany the monk Tang Sanzang on a journey to retrieve Buddhist scriptures, serving as a protector against demons and threats.

In this adaptation, Sun Wukong is portrayed as fundamentally heroic and kind-hearted. Early audience feedback noted this depiction as "too nice" compared to his more mischievous and defiant origins. His design includes a headband, gifted by Guanyin to Tang Sanzang, granting control over him. The character retains core traits: energetic combat prowess, loyalty to his master, and a love for battle.
