Description
Chiya Sakagami is a student known for her consistently emotionless expression and monotone voice, presenting a reserved exterior. Yet she displays profound care and fierce protectiveness toward her classmate Yuzuka Hanami, explicitly calling Yuzuka her most important friend. This protectiveness erupts into physical aggression against the magical creatures Miton and Pochi whenever they approach Yuzuka in ways Chiya deems threatening or disrespectful—especially if they insult Yuzuka—resulting in actions like slamming them to the ground.
Chiya harbors an intense fascination with Yuzuka’s magical girl role, particularly admiring Yuzuka’s magical swimsuit outfit, which she finds exceptionally cute. This admiration occasionally overrides her typical emotional restraint, provoking visible reactions like blushing. Beyond Yuzuka, she befriends the older magical girl Mafuyu Shinoki and forms an immediate fondness for the younger Dia Amafū, whom she considers adorable.
Inherently capable of becoming a magical girl—a potential recognized by Miton—Chiya cannot transform due to Miton’s limitation of supporting only one magical girl at a time. This aptitude sparks discussions about her eventually succeeding Mafuyu after Mafuyu’s retirement. Chiya’s bond with Yuzuka deepens throughout the series, demonstrated through gestures like letting Yuzuka sleep on her lap, linking arms, and pressing their cheeks together, reflecting their significant emotional connection.
