Description
Adrian Rubinsky ruled as the fifth Landesherr of Fezzan, a neutral dominion strategically located between the Galactic Empire and Free Planets Alliance. Known as the "Black Fox of Fezzan" for his political cunning, he manipulated both galactic powers to advance Fezzan's economy and his own ambitions. He assumed power after Terraist Church assassins eliminated his predecessor, Walenkov, for independent actions. Under Rubinsky's leadership, Fezzan covertly prolonged the Empire-Alliance war by brokering arms deals, intelligence exchanges, and technology transfers for profit.

Though secretly despising their goal of Terra-centric theocracy, Rubinsky collaborated with the Terraist Church, which held hidden influence over Fezzan. He ultimately betrayed them, planning to deploy Reinhard von Lohengramm's Imperial forces to annihilate the Church once Fezzan dominated a unified galaxy. His orchestrated schemes included supplying the Artemis Necklace to spark the Castrop Rebellion, leaking Alliance invasion plans to the Empire, and fabricating charges against Admiral Yang Wen-li to weaken the Alliance. He later arranged the kidnapping of child Emperor Erwin Josef II to justify Imperial invasion of the Alliance. Reinhard countered by annexing Fezzan in 798 UC, compelling Rubinsky to flee.

As a fugitive, Rubinsky directed Terraist proxy attacks against the Empire. Afflicted by a malignant brain tumor, he was traced through specialized medication by Imperial Minister Paul von Oberstein. Arrested on Heinessen in 801 UC with under a year to live, Rubinsky starved himself and disconnected life support. This triggered a transmitter linked to hidden bombs across Heinessenopolis, detonating explosions that obliterated 30% of the city, killed over 5,000 people, and injured more than 500,000.

Personally, Rubinsky sustained a long-term relationship with Dominique Saint-Pierré and fathered illegitimate son Rupert Kesselring. Though aware of Kesselring's ambitions, Rubinsky mentored him until Kesselring attempted a coup during Fezzan's annexation, only to be slain by Rubinsky's guards. This event deeply impacted Rubinsky, fueling a later death wish where he expressed hope for a future son to kill him.
