Description
Fyodor Patrichev serves as the deputy chief of staff for the Free Planets Alliance's 13th Fleet, holding the rank of at least major general. He is a career soldier whose history with Yang Wen-li predates the formation of the 13th Fleet. The two first met at the prisoner of war camp on the planet Econia, where Patrichev was serving as a captain. This experience left a strong impression on Yang, who later personally selected Patrichev to be a core member of his new fleet.

Physically, Patrichev is an imposing figure, described as a giant with a large, robust build. However, his appearance contrasts sharply with his personality. He is cheerful, hearty, energetic, and possesses a warm, charismatic presence that is often compared to that of an opera singer. Patrichev is known for his ability to lighten the mood and maintain high spirits among the staff, serving as a crucial morale booster. His calming influence is so significant that the atmosphere in the general staff room is said to be completely different when he is present versus when he is absent. While he does not display the kind of strategic genius that Yang does, he is a capable and reliable officer whose steady demeanor and loyalty are invaluable to the command structure.

Within the 13th Fleet, Patrichev acts as a counterbalance to the more serious and tactically minded Chief of Staff, Murai. Where Murai often voices the concerns of conventional military thinking and tightens the grip around the staff, Patrichev loosens it, offering a steadying presence and a soft-spoken agreement after Yang has explained his unorthodox strategies. This dynamic reassures the other officers and fosters a sense of collective confidence in their commander’s plans.

Patrichev's unwavering loyalty to Yang Wen-li is his primary motivation. He faithfully follows his commander through the fleet's major campaigns, from the capture of Iserlohn Fortress to the conflicts in the corridors. Even when the fleet is temporarily disbanded and Patrichev is relegated to a border region, he later facilitates the transfer of warships to rejoin Yang for the final battles. His most defining moment comes during the assassination of Yang Wen-li by Earth cultists. Without hesitation, Patrichev uses his massive frame to shield his admiral, evacuating him and physically blocking the door against the attackers. He continued to fight even after being hit by beam fire, sacrificing his own life to give Yang a chance to escape, however brief. In his final moments, he reportedly asked his assailants to stop, not out of fear, but with his characteristic lack of malice, cementing his legacy as an individual of immense physical strength and gentle, steadfast courage.
