Shizuka is a key member of Nobita's friend group. She displays protective instincts upon encountering Claire, a girl displaced from a medieval painting into the modern world. When Claire escapes Nobita's mother and becomes lost near a construction site while chasing a butterfly, Shizuka intervenes to safeguard her. She then accompanies Claire, Gian, and Suneo to Suneo's house, reuniting them with Doraemon and Nobita. During the group's adventure in the painting world, Shizuka volunteers with Claire to rescue Gian and Suneo after they are falsely accused of art theft and imprisoned in Jigokudani, facing execution. She successfully executes their rescue at a critical moment. Her perceptiveness proves vital when encountering a duplicate Claire in the castle; Shizuka identifies this figure as Sodoro's "human impersonator robot," exposing the deception. In the confrontation with the demon Esael (or Isere), Shizuka faces grave danger. Esael uses petrifying light waves during the castle attack, turning Shizuka to stone alongside Suneo and Gian. Claire witnesses Shizuka's petrification, influencing her decision to confront Esael directly. Following Esael's defeat and the restoration of color to the world, Shizuka is restored to normal with the other petrified characters.
