Description
Kiriha began existence as Ayasakura, a sacred double-woven silk obi crafted by the Hanamitani cloth merchants and passed down generations. After over a century bonded to her first owner, Nui Hanamitani, the obi manifested as a tsukumogami named Kiriha. Following Nui's death, Kiriha refused a new master until intercepted by a Tsuzura Temple exorcist. A letter from Nui granted Kiriha autonomy, leading her to the temple where she partnered with Kanaka Kagami.

Under Kanaka, Kiriha took a young adult form reflecting his spiritual power. They combated aberrations, with Kiriha developing techniques like Weave Shield and Drill Weave during pivotal battles, including the conflict with the Kazenbou that killed Kanaka's family. Kiriha observed Kanaka's increasingly perilous demeanor in combat, marked by intense smiling. After years of missions, they relocated to Kamioka as local exorcists, dueling incumbent Shinkurou Shishizaki for the position.

Later bound to Kanaka's son, Kazuya Kagami, Kiriha's appearance regressed to a childlike form due to depleted spiritual energy, fluctuating with Kazuya's power. Her personality blends boastfulness, laziness, and a shameless disposition; she frequently engages in sexual teasing, particularly toward Kazuya and the goddess Kukuri, while exhibiting possessiveness and violent outbursts when angered. She displays a strong preference for sweets, especially pudding, and indulges in video games. Despite abrasive traits, she demonstrates fierce loyalty, willingly risking her life for Kazuya. She resents being treated as a tool rather than a partner, especially when commanded using her true name.

In combat, Kiriha employs Cloth Fu techniques, manipulating her obi form for offense and defense with moves like Shield Weave and Fence Weave Inner Court Formation. Her abilities include duplication, flight, and body manipulation through weaving. She participates in significant conflicts against aberrations and other threats, such as the Mayoiga Revolt and confrontations at Tsuzura Temple. During a clash with a resurrected Kanaka, Kiriha was destroyed but later revealed to have survived.

Her relationship with Kazuya evolves through shared experiences, including fusion via Divine Possession that temporarily paralyzes him afterward. She maintains a vitriolic rivalry with Kukuri, rooted in a past intimate history under Kanaka's influence. Kiriha's backstory includes periods of emotional suppression before meeting Kanaka, after which she adopted a more volatile and lewd demeanor.

Key developments involve her role in Kazuya discovering his sealed memories and status as a Taboo Child, her involvement in establishing the school counseling club to investigate supernatural threats to Kukuri, and her adaptation to new partnerships during temporary separations from Kazuya.
