Description
Horrorman is a recurring character in the Anpanman franchise, appearing as a skeleton in a long, tattered purple shirt marked with crossed bones on the chest. His design features knobby knees, prominent cheekbones, and a permanently visible set of teeth. He possesses the distinctive ability to detach the bones from his chest and throw them as boomerang weapons.

Despite his skeletal and potentially frightening appearance, Horrorman exhibits a happy-go-lucky and clumsy nature. He frequently expresses joy using his signature exclamation, "hora," an attention-getting phrase similar to "look here." He delights in trying to scare others, though intentional attempts usually fail; his naturally goofy demeanor causes more successful accidental scares. Generally well-meaning and eager to learn, he can sometimes be insensitive or mischievous, such as rummaging through others' belongings.

Horrorman shares quarters with Baikinman due to his strong affection for Dokeen. He persistently tries to impress her by gathering flowers and food, though these efforts rarely succeed. His allegiance to Baikinman does not equate to consistent villainy, as he frequently avoids participating in Baikinman's malicious schemes.

His origins are largely undefined, established only as an undead entity within the series. Whispers of princely origins suggested by Horako remain unverified and potentially unreliable. His first chronological animated series appearance is episode 159A, "Anpanman and Horrorman," while his broader franchise debut was in the 1991 film "Fly! Fly! Chibigon," where he served as a film-exclusive mentor to Chibigon. He is often seen in settings like underground ghost towns, reinforcing his association with spooky environments without explanation.
