Description
Dokin-chan is a recurring character throughout the *Anpanman* franchise, featuring in the movie *Soreike! Anpanman: Dadandan to Futago no Hoshi*. This anthropomorphic germ hails from another planet. Her orange-red body features a single antenna, a long tail, and pink shoes. She possesses white hands and a distinctively white face marked by green eyes, small red cheeks, and a small red nose.

Her personality centers on selfishness, greed, and demanding behavior. She frequently commands her partner, Baikinman, to fetch food, items, or even people, often placing him in peril. Despite her antagonistic nature, she sporadically shows kindness, primarily fueled by an obsessive romantic fixation on the hero Shokupanman. This fixation drives extreme efforts to win his affection, resulting in elaborate schemes to lure or trap him. These plans typically fail due to miscalculations or unforeseen outcomes, such as one instance where she trapped Currypanman instead of Shokupanman on an island, leading to an unexpected camaraderie. Her dwelling overflows with Shokupanman memorabilia, including posters and handmade dolls, showcasing her single-minded devotion.

Her primary relationship is a contentious partnership with the antagonist Baikinman; she assists his schemes while constantly belittling and bossing him around, though underlying mutual care exists. She also has a younger sister, Kokin-chan; their interactions involve rivalry, often over Shokupanman's attention, though they occasionally reconcile.

Early in the franchise, Dokin-chan wielded a staff with one end that enlarged objects and another that shrank them. This staff saw inconsistent use and faded from regular appearances by the late 1990s. She primarily travels using a pink UFO, employed for transportation or occasionally taking hostages during Baikinman's plots.

Her character design evolved, with her eyes changing from elliptical shapes to half-circles, aligning with broader animation updates. Across all media, she remains a secondary antagonist, motivated by personal gratification and romantic pursuits rather than Baikinman's destructive goals. In *Dadandan to Futago no Hoshi*, she appears among the core cast. Her narrative includes themes of unrequited love, particularly in her dynamic with Horrorman, who harbors affection for her, though she remains unaware. Internationally, she is known as "Dokeen" (English), "红精灵" (Red Spirit, Chinese), and "짤랑" (Jingle, Korean).
