Description
Baikinman hails from Baikin Planet, arriving on Earth inside an egg that hatched at the precise moment of Anpanman's birth. This event defines his existence, driving an innate compulsion to defeat Anpanman, framing their conflict as embodiments of moral dualism.

His appearance is that of an anthropomorphic fly: a black furry body adorned with purple gloves and shoes, fly wings, antennae, purple lips, a zigzag tail, and a slimy blue tongue. Contact with soap or sanitizers strips away his protective mold coating, exposing a bone-white body and frequently shrinking him to insect size, marking a consistent physiological weakness.

His personality blends narcissism, impulsiveness, and gluttony. He exclusively employs the pompous self-referential pronoun "ore-sama" and frequently engineers machines, gadgets, or structures modeled after his own likeness. While he proclaims himself a being "who knows no love," he occasionally reveals unexpected softness, particularly toward his creations and allies. Creator Takashi Yanase indicated Baikinman harbors a hidden desire for a normal life, constrained by his inherent villainous role.

A mechanical genius, he designs complex robots and weaponry to combat Anpanman. His most notable creation is Franken Robo-kun, a combat robot programmed with excessive kindness. Franken Robo-kun regards Baikinman as a father figure, persistently seeking affection despite inadvertently electrocuting him, creating a dynamic where Baikinman exhibits reluctant tolerance.

Key relationships define his actions:
- **Anpanman**: Their rivalry is existential, rooted in simultaneous births. Baikinman relentlessly schemes against Anpanman yet occasionally assists him during extreme crises, albeit grudgingly. Anpanman consistently attempts friendship, reflecting their complex duality.
- **Dokin-chan**: As his primary partner, he shows persistent affection and deference, despite her focus on Shokupanman. Their collaboration is frequent, though her regard for him is inconsistent.
- **Rollpanna**: Baikinman implanted a "Baikin Plant" during her creation to corrupt her. However, her autonomy often leads her to betray his plans and aid Anpanman.

Across films and specials, his role extends beyond pure antagonism. In *Soreike! Anpanman: Kuroyukihime to motemote Baikinman* (2005), he forms a temporary alliance with Princess Kuroyukihime, leveraging her abilities to spread darkness. The 2025 film *Chapon no Hero!* sees him exploiting the origins of the character Chapon to create conflict, ultimately thwarted by Chapon and Anpanman's unity. Non-canon specials occasionally depict him coexisting peacefully with Anpanman. Regarding *Soreike! Anpanman: Bokura wa Hero* (1997), Baikinman appears but his specific role remains undocumented.
