Highly intelligent, Cheese comprehends human speech and communicates through barks perceived as coherent language by those around him. He aids in bakery tasks, pilots the Anpanman Go vehicle, and leverages sharp hearing to identify distant distress signals. His posture gradually shifted from quadrupedal movement to upright walking on hind legs, though he retains traditional dog-like sitting postures. He rests in a loaf-shaped canine bed equipped with personal food and water dishes.

Cheese balances dramatic goofiness with courageous loyalty, often providing comic relief while fearlessly joining Anpanman on perilous missions.
