Description
Crafted approximately 500 years ago by the scientist Nikola in the Azoth Kingdom, Magearna is an artificial Pokémon designed as a royal gift. Its original body gleamed in vivid gold, red, and white, echoing a Poké Ball to signify its regal purpose. At its core lies the Soul-Heart, an artificial consciousness synthesized from gathered Pokémon life energy. This Soul-Heart allows Magearna to synchronize with the emotions and thoughts of others, particularly attuning to distress in Pokémon to offer aid.
Magearna's form resembles a bipedal figure of interlocking metallic spheres. Its design incorporates rabbit-like ears, a gear-shaped head, and a lower body flared like a ball gown with flounced plates. For protection or during inactivity, sadness, or sleep, it folds compactly into a spherical, Poké Ball-like form. Distinctively, Magearna can generate pink floral bouquets from its hands, primarily to comfort others, though these flowers trigger allergic sneezes in its companion, Volcanion.
Centuries later, Magearna resided in the Nebel Plateau sanctuary for mistreated Pokémon, safeguarded by Volcanion. Their bond embodied a "Lady and Knight" dynamic. During Azoth Kingdom events, Councillor Alva captured Magearna, seeking its Soul-Heart to power a historic superweapon: a flying fortress capable of firing devastating blasts. The Soul-Heart's removal rendered Magearna's body inert and unresponsive, effectively erasing its consciousness.
Ash Ketchum restored the Soul-Heart, yet Magearna initially remained dormant and emotionless. Its consciousness reactivated only upon witnessing Volcanion's survival after the fortress's destruction. Using its floral ability, Magearna deliberately triggered Volcanion's sneeze to revive him, affirming their bond. Following the conflict, Magearna returned peacefully to the Nebel Plateau, resuming its role as a sanctuary inhabitant while Volcanion maintained watch. The conclusion showed it coexisting harmoniously with other Pokémon, reaffirming its original purpose as a symbol of human-Pokémon harmony.
