Description
Chloe von Einzbern, known as Kuro, emerged as a distinct consciousness formed from Illyasviel von Einzbern's sealed memories and capabilities. Her mother, Irisviel von Einzbern, imposed this seal during Illya's infancy to grant her a normal life, sparing her from the original destiny as the Holy Grail War vessel in Fuyuki. Over time, these sealed aspects grew complex and dense, developing into a separate personality harboring deep bitterness. This personality resented her parents for the sealing and Illya for desiring normality, viewing it as a denial of her own right to exist.

Kuro achieved physical manifestation after Illya utilized the Archer-class card in a critical battle. Leveraging Illya's latent wish-granting power as an incomplete Grail vessel, this consciousness harnessed the Archer card to forge an independent body. Initially claiming the name Illyasviel von Einzbern, she adopted "Kuro" (meaning "black") to avoid confusion. Her appearance mirrors Illya but features tanned skin, light pink hair, and light auburn eyes, typically clad in a variation of EMIYA's combat attire or a school uniform.

Following her manifestation, Kuro sought to eliminate Illya, believing their coexistence impossible. This conflict ended with her capture by Rin Tohsaka, who placed a curse linking their sensations, ensuring any injury or pain inflicted on Illya would also afflict Kuro. Unable to pursue her original goal, Kuro instead disrupted Illya's daily life, including draining magical energy from classmates via kissing—a necessity for her survival due to lacking a permanent mana source. She enrolled at Illya's school under the identity of her cousin, Chloe von Einzbern.

Kuro's perspective shifted during a near-death crisis caused by instability in her manifested form. After Illya persuaded her to voice her true desire—simply to live—Kuro's wish activated residual Grail capabilities, stabilizing her body. Formally adopted into the Einzbern family, she resolved her existential conflict, accepting her role as Illya's twin sister or cousin. This acceptance marked a significant shift in her demeanor, though she retained her mischievous nature.

In later events, Kuro collaborated with allies like Bazett to rescue Miyu Edelfelt from another world, demonstrating loyalty and tactical skill. Her abilities stem primarily from the Archer-class card, granting proficiency in Projection Magecraft to replicate weapons, including Noble Phantasms like Kanshou and Bakuya, and combat skills inherited from EMIYA. Her Noble Phantasm, "Triple-Linked Crane Wings," employs projected swords and teleportation for complex attacks. She possesses skills such as Mind's Eye (False) for danger prediction and Kiss Demon for energy absorption, with parameters favoring agility over endurance and magical energy reserves.

Kuro maintains complex relationships: a rivalry mixed with protectiveness toward Illya; open affection for their brother, Shirou Emiya; and recognition of EMIYA as a future Shirou, whose tragic path she acknowledges but avoids addressing directly. She forms bonds with Miyu, respecting her straightforwardness, and exhibits exasperation toward her mother's eccentricities.

During interdimensional travels and subsequent narratives, Kuro continued assisting Illya and allies, utilizing her combat expertise and mana-draining capabilities. These experiences reinforced her appreciation for familial bonds and her determination to protect her newfound life.
