Description
Discovered by Bonnie on a stump within the Kalos region, Puni-chan (also called Squishy) is a Zygarde Core. Found inside a bag, it received its nickname after Ash's and Serena's Pokédex failed to identify it. This Core can absorb surrounding cells to transform into its 10% Forme, employing moves such as Land's Wrath and Dragon Pulse when sensing threats or protecting allies. It later gains the capacity to assume its 50% Forme during confrontations and briefly accesses its Complete Forme remotely during a critical battle in the Azoth Kingdom, unseen by humans.
Puni-chan shares a deep bond with Bonnie, often resting in her bag beside Dedenne. This connection evolves into a unique empathetic link where both physically feel each other's pain, resembling the Bond Phenomenon. During their travels, Puni-chan aids Bonnie multiple times, guiding her through Terminus Cave, helping find medicinal plants for injured Pokémon, and participating in battles against threats like Team Flare. It plays a pivotal role confronting Team Flare's controlled Zygarde (Z2) during the Lumiose City crisis, with Bonnie's intervention breaking its mind control.
