Description
Miyu Edelfelt, originally named Miyu Sakatsuki, hails from a parallel world where her family revered her as a "Child of God," granting innate wish-granting abilities akin to a Holy Grail. Her early life involved strict confinement, limited education, and isolation. The destruction of her family in Fuyuki led to her rescue by a parallel Shirou Emiya and Kiritsugu Emiya. Kiritsugu saw her as a tool for salvation, while Shirou formed a protective bond. After Kiritsugu's death, Shirou cared for her, struggling between viewing her as a sibling or a magical object. Miyu used her power to wish for them to become true siblings, altering her eye color as a physical manifestation. She was later captured by the Ainsworth family seeking to exploit her powers.
Following her world's Fifth Holy Grail War, Shirou's wish upon the Grail teleported Miyu to the main timeline world. Found by Luviagelita "Luvia" Edelfelt, Miyu was adopted into the Edelfelt family. She resided in Luvia's mansion, serving as her maid. Contracting with the Kaleidostick Magical Sapphire, she became a magical girl tasked with collecting Class Cards containing Heroic Spirit powers. Initially reserved, logical, and duty-focused, Miyu excelled academically but lacked social skills. She dismissed Illyasviel von Einzbern's magical girl abilities as inadequate, though their rivalry transformed into a deep friendship. Miyu became intensely protective of Illya, her first true friend, and mastered Class Cards, learning to "Install" the Saber-class card after observing Illya.
Her development intensified during conflicts like the eighth Class Card (Gilgamesh) emergence and encounters with the Ainsworths. Gilgamesh revealed her origins as a parallel-world princess and true Holy Grail, leading to her kidnapping. Rescued by Illya and allies, Miyu confronted her traumatic past. Her relationship with Shirou remained central, with reunions showing childlike affection like wearing animal-themed pajamas. In Fate/Grand Order, Miyu was summoned as a Caster-class Servant by Ritsuka Fujimaru. Her abilities included Magic Resistance, Infinite Mana Supply, and the Noble Phantasm "Wish Upon a Star," temporarily granting wishes focused on protecting humanity. This Noble Phantasm derived from memories of Shirou, symbolizing acceptance of her past. Her dialogues at Chaldea emphasized devotion to Illya and cautious rivalry with Chloe, Illya's alternate persona.
Physically, Miyu has black hair in low pigtails and golden-brown eyes, standing 134 cm tall. Her magical girl form features a blue-and-black outfit with a white cape and boots. Class Card Installations alter her appearance to reflect the Heroic Spirit, such as Saber's armor without chest plating. Her personality evolved from stoic and emotionally detached to deeply loyal and expressive, particularly around Illya and Shirou. She maintained a theoretical approach but developed resilience and a commitment to saving others without sacrifice. Her relationships extended to characters like EMIYA (Assassin), whom she vaguely recalled, and Irisviel, whom she noted differed from Illya's version.
