Description
Kaede Igarashi, head of Ōsai Academy's Disciplinary Committee, progresses from second-year to third-year student. She possesses long, straight light brown hair, typically styled in two braids down her back, and dark brown eyes. Her height is generally depicted as about a head shorter than Takatoshi Tsuda, though inconsistently at times. Aria Shichijō once commented on her hairstyle, resulting in a temporary exchange between them. Kaede often wears a stern expression befitting her role, though her demeanor softens among familiar people.

Strict, principled, and diligent, Kaede rigorously enforces school rules both on and off campus. Yet, she displays vulnerability in comedic or unexpected situations, sometimes shifting unexpectedly from the "straight-man" to the "boke" role, especially around Tsuda or female classmates.

She suffers from severe androphobia, an intense fear of men. This phobia causes stuttering, shaking, and a need for distance during interactions with males; physical contact typically makes her faint. These reactions only occur if she recognizes the individual as male. The phobia stems from comedic yet impactful childhood betrayals by boys. Despite this challenge, she strives to uphold her duties and improve.

Her relationships reflect her personality and phobia. She respects Student Council President Shino Amakusa while remaining wary of Shino's perverted tendencies. She views Aria Shichijō as a role model despite Aria's immodesty and inappropriate remarks. Suzu Hagimura is her most reliable and easiest-to-converse-with colleague. Kaede frequently clashes with Ranko Hata over Ranko's disregard for rules; their dynamic involves mutual pranks, like Ranko exploiting Kaede's phobia or Kaede threatening serious discussions over Ranko's transgressions.

Kaede's development centers on gradual acclimation to Takatoshi Tsuda. Initial encounters involved extreme anxiety, fueled by Shino's comments labeling him a pervert, making interaction nearly impossible. Over time, particularly by the second season, she achieves friendly conversations with him. Takatoshi becomes the sole male she can tolerate physical contact with without fainting. Key moments include her holding his hand out of concern for apparent blood (later revealed as glue) and inadvertently placing her hand on his stomach during karaoke to demonstrate breathing. Later manga chapters reveal she harbors a mild crush on him, indicating specific progress in managing her phobia around Takatoshi.

Significant events include her first appearance confronting the Student Council over photos from an overnight beach trip, threatening Shino's dismissal. During a sports festival relay, her phobia caused her to flee from Takatoshi, costing her team victory. She participated in the "Tell'em, Kaede-chan!" segment, struggling to deliver documents to Takatoshi like a love letter. Her class's school festival café required serving male customers, visibly straining her. She patrolled corridors but avoided areas with first-year boys. Kaede consistently addresses public displays of affection by the couple Nao-chan and Yoshi-kun, scolding them for violating decorum. Though they typically apologize, their repeated behavior remains a frustrating challenge she must manage as Disciplinary Head.
