TV-Series
Description
Suzu Hagimura holds the position of treasurer on the Ōsai Academy student council. Beginning the series at age 15, she later celebrates her 16th birthday as the manga unfolds. Despite her youth, she is a certified genius boasting an IQ of 180. Her exceptional intellect manifests in abilities like performing complex 10-digit mental calculations and utilizing a photographic memory to absorb entire books by simply flipping through the pages. Academically, she reigns as the academy's undisputed top student and demonstrates fluency across six languages: English, Japanese, Italian, Spanish, French, and Russian.

Her physical stature, a defining characteristic, stands at 140 cm (4 feet 7⅛ inches), giving her the appearance of an elementary school pupil. Suzu remains acutely sensitive about her diminutive height and childlike looks throughout the narrative, reacting fiercely to any comments on these traits. She meticulously tracks her growth with marks on a wall at home. Comedic moments frequently highlight her size, employing visual gags where only the top of her head appears in group shots, sometimes indicated by captions or arrows.

Personality-wise, Suzu is regarded as the most mentally mature of the main characters. Yet, she harbors an extreme phobia of the paranormal, becoming visibly distressed and shivering when such topics arise. Her daily regimen is strictly regimented, including an enforced 9:00 PM bedtime and a necessary mid-afternoon nap. She also possesses a subtle inclination to assert authority by enjoying looking down on others from high places.

Within her relationships, Suzu respects Shino Amakusa, the council president, but readily criticizes Shino's perverse remarks, especially when Takatoshi Tsuda is not present. She similarly respects senior member Aria Shichijo but finds Aria's penchant for off-color humor stressful. Her closest bond forms with vice president Takatoshi Tsuda. As fellow first-years and the council's more rational voices, they develop a strong connection. Suzu grows dependent on Takatoshi's presence, feeling unsettled in his absence. This dynamic persists when they advance to the second year and share a class.

Her friendships include best friend and classmate Nene, though their interactions are complicated by Nene's obsession with building inappropriate devices like vibrators. Suzu also maintains a solid relationship with Mutsumi Mitsuba, addressing her by her first name and occasionally offering snide remarks about Mutsumi prioritizing judo over studies. Despite this, their friendship endures, evidenced by Mutsumi being invited to sleepovers at Suzu's house alongside Nene.

Character development across the series sees Suzu adapting to her council role and evolving relationships, particularly her deepening reliance on and affection for Takatoshi. Her core traits—intellectual brilliance, sensitivity about her appearance, and fear of the paranormal—remain central, consistently fueling comedic situations.
