Description
Hailing from Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, Panpaka belongs to a family lineage entrusted across generations with securing sacred underwear. This vital mission now passes to him, continuing the tradition. He appears as an anthropomorphic piglet typically clad only in white briefs, often losing them during comedic situations resulting in temporary nudity. His visual design evolved from an earlier character named Taisuke featured in initial shorts.

His best friend and constant companion is Punyan, a purple cat who communicates primarily through his name. Punyan provides cautious oversight during their escapades, countering Panpaka's impulsive nature. Their dynamic sees Punyan frequently attempting to prevent mishaps, though simple distractions like cat food can sideline him.

Their quests involve surreal comedic scenarios to obtain rare underwear, frequently concluding with partial success or disappointment. They face a rival in Boark, an eyepatch-wearing "Pants Hunter," who actively steals underwear and views Panpaka as competition, though Panpaka remains largely unaware of this rivalry. Boark receives assistance from Croli, a sophisticated cat motivated primarily by personal amusement.

Family members participate in his journey: Grandpa formally assigns the pants-collecting mission and occasionally aids endeavors. Grandma exhibits present-day calmness, contrasting with her youth spent as DJ Pants. Panpaka's parents offer background support, while other relatives like cousins appear sporadically.

During a family vacation depicted in the film *Treasure of the Bananan Kingdom*, separation strands Panpaka in a jungle nation plagued by an Alligator King stealing bananas. Mistaken for a prophesied hero, he leads a group including Wanpoko the Dog, Orson the Crane, and Terry the Monkey. Their mission becomes retrieving sacred underwear and restoring bananas, highlighting Panpaka's accidental leadership amid companions prone to crude humor like mooning.

Panpaka's personality combines enthusiastic determination with obliviousness to consequences, driving the comedic tone of his underwear-focused expeditions across all media.
