Leonard Schteinberg’s bond with Jonathan anchors Jonathan’s narrative. Initially, Leonard protects Jonathan due to Jonathan’s resemblance to Leonard’s deceased younger brother—a sibling Leonard previously failed to save. Their relationship evolves into genuine romance.
