Description
Tomoka Minato is a sixth-grade student and girls' basketball team captain at Keishin Academy, playing as shooting guard with jersey number 4. She stands 142 cm tall with a petite build, short dark-purple hair styled in a side ponytail secured by twin hairbands, dark-purple eyes, and a distinctive mole beneath her left eye. She harbors personal concerns about her physical development, particularly her breast size compared to teammate Airi Kashii.

After transferring to Keishin Academy due to social isolation caused by an obsessive focus on winning at her previous school, she befriended Maho Misawa, who helped establish the basketball club. This new environment shifted her priority towards valuing friendships over victory, though her deep passion for basketball remains; she would refuse to play if separated from her teammates.

Tomoka exhibits maturity, confidence, and caring leadership, typically maintaining respect and composure. However, proximity to the team's coach, Subaru Hasegawa, often causes visible flustering and shyness, suggesting underlying romantic feelings. This intensifies when intoxicated, leading to uninhibited physical clinginess towards him. She shares her father's susceptibility to alcohol and possesses a fear of cockroaches, as seen in the OVA "Tomoka no Ichigo Sundae." Her family resides in a spacious Japanese-style home, indicative of an above-average income.

On the court, she is the team's most skilled player, showcasing advanced ball-handling, speed, and impressive long-range shooting that earned her the nickname "Shiny Gift" from Coach Subaru. Initially playing as a point forward capable of multiple positions, her effectiveness was hindered by excessive politeness and overthinking. The point guard role was subsequently assigned to Saki Nagatsuka, allowing Tomoka to excel as a dedicated shooting guard focused on offense, with her technical prowess, particularly her jump shots, frequently highlighted.

A pivotal childhood encounter revealed in the light novel epilogue and anime adaptation shows her basketball devotion originated from meeting Subaru long before Keishin, where he inspired her love for the sport. This connection is further underscored by her association with the Pleiades star cluster, sharing its Japanese name ("Subaru") with the coach.

Tomoka also appears as a playable character specializing in basketball-themed setplay tactics in the *Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax* fighting games and features in the visual novel *Ro-Kyu-Bu! Naisho no Shutter Chance*.
